Training in Sport and Leisure Management

Science-based sport and leisure management is crucial because it drives evidence-based decision-making, optimizing athlete performance, enhancing recovery, and reducing injury risks through objective, data-driven strategies. It allows managers to adopt best practices in areas like biomechanics and physiology, turning raw data into effective training protocols. Bushwalking is an important leisure activity. Bushwalking provides an immersive, low-impact experience that fosters a deeper connection to nature. Walking at a slower pace encourages a sensory-rich, mindful observation of biodiversity, flora, and fauna, turning participants into advocates for conservation and allowing for the spotting of ecological changes.

Below is a list of the qualifications that we offer in Sport and Leisure Management, and Bushwalking

  • Certificate III in Outdoor Leadership (Electives on Bushwalking) (coming soon)

  • Certificate IV in Outdoor Leadership (Electives on Bushwalking) (coming soon)

  • Diploma of Outdoor Leadership (Electives on Bushwalking) (coming soon)

  • Diploma of Sport, Aquatics and Recreation Management (Electives on Sport and Leisure Management) (coming soon)

Insight CEO, Dr Mark Griffin, has had a lifetime enjoyment of bushwalking (hiking the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu in Peru being a highlight). He is also regularly involved as an athlete and support volunteer at numerous sporting events including those of UniSport, the Gold Coast Marathons, and the Pan-Pacific Masters Games.

Training is organized by the Insight Training College. Insight is based within the Gold Coast Health and Knowledge Precinct. Our staff are members of Australian Science Communicators. Insight is a member of Experience Gold Coast.
