Training in Computer Game Development
Computer games are revolutionary for science communication because they transform passive observers into active participants. Through interactive simulations, players can experiment with complex systems—like managing ecosystems or engineering vaccines—learning through a "failure-positive" environment that mirrors the scientific method. Games like Kerbal Space Program or citizen science platforms like Foldit demystify abstract concepts by providing immediate feedback and agency. This gamification increases cognitive engagement and long-term retention, making science accessible to diverse audiences. Ultimately, games foster ocean literacy and environmental empathy by allowing players to experience worlds otherwise inaccessible to them.

Insight CEO, Dr Mark Griffin, is a computer engineer with over 30 years of experience. Mark and Insight continue our own research into interactive visual experiences. We also have a gallery of some of the photos and videos that we have captured on Computer Games, Our Research, Visual Effects, and Information Technology.
Training is organized by the Insight Training College. Insight is based within the Gold Coast Health and Knowledge Precinct. Insight CEO, Dr Mark Griffin, is a committee member with Engineers Australia and Australian Science Communicators. Our staff are members of the Australian Academy of Cinema Television Arts (AACTA).
