AACTA

The Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Arts (AACTA) is the nation’s premier professional organization for film and television, established in 2011 by the Australian Film Institute (AFI). AACTA’s primary mission is to identify, encourage, promote, and celebrate Australia's highest achievements in screen content, often regarded as Australia’s equivalent to the Oscars or BAFTAs. At the heart of its mission, AACTA hosts the annual AACTA Awards, which honour excellence across over 55 categories, covering feature film, television, documentary, short film, and online content. The AACTA Festival, held annually in February at HOTA (Home of the Arts) on the Gold Coast, is a five-day public celebration of Australian screen culture. Running alongside the prestigious Award ceremonies, the festival offers over 100 events, including exclusive film previews, behind-the-scenes masterclasses, in-conversation panels with top talent, and the AACTA Screen Careers Expo. The event connects fans, emerging creators, and industry professionals, featuring high-profile stars and industry experts.

Insight CEO, Dr Mark Griffin, is a regular photographer and videographer at the annual AACTA Festival.
