ACSPRI
The Australian Consortium for Social and Political Research Incorporated (ACSPRI) is a not-for-profit organisation established in 1976 to promote and enhance social science research and methodology in Australia. Formed as a consortium of universities and government research agencies, ACSPRI acts as a peak body supporting empirical social science through data, training, and software infrastructure.
Key aspects of ACSPRI include:
Data Access and Research: It facilitates access to Australian and international social science data, collaborating closely with the Australian Data Archive (ADA).
Training: ACSPRI offers a renowned program of intensive in-person and online courses in research methods and technology.
Academic Surveys Australia (ASA): This survey arm specialises in high-quality data collection for academic and policy researchers, along with developing and maintaining open-source survey software like queXML and LimeSurvey.
Community: It hosts the biennial Social Science Methodology Conference and manages the Australian Survey of Social Attitudes (AuSSA).
Membership is institutional, providing staff and students with discounted access to training, surveys, and research resources
