Data Capture
Scientific research and filmmaking uses data capture through a large variety of modalities including medical imaging, photogrammetry, and drones. These tools bridge the gap between complex data and visual understanding. They convert invisible phenomena, inaccessible locations, and abstract measurements into engaging, high-fidelity visual narratives.
Medical imaging (CT, MRI) allows scientists to visualize internal structures without invasive procedures, providing crucial data for diagnostics while creating stunning, educational internal views for documentaries. Photogrammetry reconstructs 3D models from 2D photos, enabling precise documentation of heritage sites, wildlife, and landscapes, which adds unprecedented accuracy to virtual worlds and educational content. Drones act as mobile, high-resolution eyes in the sky, accessing hazardous environments for research and capturing sweeping, dynamic footage once restricted to expensive helicopters.
Together, they enhance storytelling by providing unique, accurate perspectives—making science more immersive and movies more realistic. They democratize access to high-end visualization, cutting costs and enabling creators to explore, map, and showcase the world with unprecedented detail.
Insight uses a number of forms for data capture ranging from techniques that are common in the film industry to those in the scientific community. Insight has a Division established for the Capture and Analysis of Data in Science and Engineering. We would like to work with you in the capture of data that meets your business needs.
